Whale Watching Wedding

on San Juan Island

Brittany reached out to me TWO AND A HALF YEARS AGO after finding me on instagram. We shared a mutual love of the San Juan Islands and salty sea breezes. Fast forward a year and a half and I got to explore & show off my favorite parts of Orcas Island for their adventure engagement session. We hiked, played under a waterfall, drank local beer, indulged in island sourced ice cream and popped champagne in a canoe. It was a DREAM. Check out their engagement session here.

On their wedding day, I walked onto the San Juan Island ferry bound for Friday Harbor and KNEW I was in for a once in a life time experience. Brittany & Jordan chose to share their love of whales with their guests by tying the knot mid-charter with San Juan Safaris. Jordan proposed to Brittany on a whale watching charter the last time they were on the islands and knew that any other venue wouldn't do. During the final planning meeting, the following exchange occurred:

Captain: So what’s more important during your charter? The ceremony or seeing whales?

Brittany: I’ve loved whales for 23 yrs and I’ve only loved Jordan for 7

Well the whales DELIVERED! It felt as if that pod of Orcas must have known it was a special day because they pulled out Sea World worthy tricks. Scroll down to see their big moves! <3 After an amazing 'performance' by our resident pod, (#whalesonweddingday), we puttered over to Lime Kiln Park. There is the prettiest piece of rocky coast line accented with the lighthouse that houses whale observatory files. For the couple that LOVES whale watching, I couldn't have dreamed up a more perfect day. ENJOY!
