10 Things I Carry In My Wedding Photography Camera Bag
Here's a glimpse of just a few of the essential items I carry with me to EVERY wedding.
Two camera bodies. My main camera body is a Nikon Z6ii. I also have an ‘incase of emergencies’ backup camera, a Nikon d750. When it’s someone’s wedding day, we don’t mess around. Ensuring we can capture the whole day as it happens means being prepared with a backup camera.
Prime Lens combo— 85mm 1.8, 24mm 1.4 & 50mm 1.4
A macro for ring shots! This lens allows me to get a close up sparkling photo of that gorgeous engagement ring.
Walkie Talkies. These are fun & helpful for venues where cell service is iffy. My second photographer and I use these to coordinate the first look and keep in touch throughout the day while we’re in different locations.
Ibuprofen. I take two during my dinner break to prevent a sore back & feet.
Tissues. I go through a half dozen packs each wedding season when I hand out tissues to a teary couple during their first look or to an emotional parent.
Batteries. SO MANY BATTERIES. Flash batteries, camera batteries, flash trigger batteries. I should invest stock in AA’s. hah
Light stands & flashes. While I LOVE shooting in natural light, it’s not always available. Bringing my own lighting rig ensures I can arrive at any venue ready to create art worthy images.
Sequin camera strap. Not only does it make me feel fabulous, but I love being twinsies with my second who also rocks the gold sequin strap.
Styling Mat. It’s a key ingredient in creating those swoon worthy flat lay images of your thoughtfully chosen bridal accessories.
