Getting married at Ray’s Boathouse?

When Natalie and Matt envisioned their wedding day, they dreamed of a celebration filled with the serene hues of seaglass and the timeless elegance of the ocean. Their dream came to life at Ray's Boathouse, a quintessential Seattle venue, where the city's waterfront provided the perfect backdrop for their love story.

The morning of the wedding was a bustle of excitement and beauty at a mid-century modern Airbnb on N Bagley Ave. This stunning location, with its floor-to-ceiling windows and natural light, set the stage for the day. The bride and her wedding party, adorned in a mix of oceanic greens and classic black, got ready with the help of Salon Maison. The space was alive with laughter, the scent of fresh flowers, and the soft hum of anticipation.

Natalie looked every bit the ethereal bride in her Jenny Yo silk mermaid gown. The dress, with its elegant cloth buttons cascading down the back and a ribbon edge veil fluttering gracefully, was a perfect match for her timeless pearls from Tiffany. These pearls, a gift from Matt, symbolized not only their wedding day but also the enduring love they shared. Her bridesmaids and bridesman complemented her beautifully in their mix-and-match dresses and suits, each piece carefully chosen to echo the seafoam theme.

Matt, looking dashing in his gray suit, shared a touching first look with Natalie before the ceremony. The moment was filled with genuine smiles and happy tears, a private pause before the festivities began. This choice allowed them to steal away to Centennial Park for their wedding photos, ensuring they didn't miss out on the cocktail hour. The park, a hidden gem near the Expedia building, offered a variety of ocean-view angles, wildflowers, and interesting architectural steps. The couple, bridal party, and I piled into a Mercedes Sprinter van from Butler Transportation and set off for this picturesque location.

Although the ten-minute walk to the photo spot gave me a slight worry about Natalie's heels, she assured me afterward that the stroll was a refreshing break and the views were well worth it. Her words were true—Centennial Park's breathtaking scenery perfectly framed their love and joy, adding another layer of magic to their day.

As guests arrived at Ray's Boathouse for the ceremony, they were greeted by a scene of nautical splendor. The deck, adorned with flowers artfully crafted by Shelby at Bond in Bloom, was a vision of white and blue hydrangeas, Queen Anne's lace, and roses. Elevated floral arrangements framed the aisle and mirrored those behind the couple, creating a seamless transition from ceremony to reception.

The ceremony itself was a heartfelt affair, with the ocean sparkling behind Natalie and Matt as they exchanged vows. Paddle boarders and boats cruised by, adding a touch of Seattle charm to the backdrop. The setting sun cast a golden glow over the couple, making the moment even more poignant and beautiful.

Following the ceremony, guests were treated to a delightful charcuterie setup during cocktail hour. The spread, with its variety of cheeses, meats, and accompaniments, was a hit, setting the tone for the gourmet Pacific Northwest dinner that followed. The Northwest Room and accompanying deck at Ray's Boathouse provided a cozy yet elegant space for the reception, where the talented chef and team at Ray's outdid themselves with a delicious plated dinner that celebrated local flavors.

As the evening progressed, Natalie and Matt stole away for sunset photos on the deck. The iconic Ray's sign flickered in the background, adding a nostalgic touch to their romantic portraits. The Seattle skyline and the shimmering water were the perfect witnesses to their love, capturing the essence of their seafoam-inspired day.

Throughout the celebration, the atmosphere was filled with love, laughter, and joy. The seaglass theme was evident in every detail, from the color palette to the décor, creating a cohesive and beautiful experience for everyone. Friends and family danced the night away, their smiles and cheers echoing the happiness of the newlyweds.

Natalie and Matt's wedding at Ray's Boathouse was more than just a day; it was a celebration of their journey together and the beginning of a new chapter. The thoughtful touches, the breathtaking scenery, and the palpable love made it a day to remember. As they embark on their new adventure, the memories of their seafoam-inspired wedding will always remind them of the beauty of their love and the magic of Seattle's waterfront.
